MUD Opening for Linkin Park at Projekt RevolutionTheir raw guitar riffs, heavy bass grooves, and depth in song writing resonates a diverse collection of melodic, hard-edged, and energetic sounds. The result is a blending of punk's energy and incredibly catchy, concise and singable hooks, drawing comparisons to successful crossover bands like Green Day and Letters to Cleo. Approximately a month ago, ImaginAsian Radio assisted in getting the word out that MUD needs your help to secure one of three vacant spots for Linkin Park’s Projekt Revolution Tour. The contest is over and we are proud to announce that they have indeed locked it down. We would like to thank all those that lent a hand in helping MUD secure this great opportunity. Gossip, News & Randoms: What’s going on with Asian and Asian American artists?Phyllis Chang - Phyllis's songs are contemporary pop/jazz and include a mixture of ballads to uptempo groove oriented songs. Musically she blends in elements of pop/jazz with some latin/bossa nova influences as well. Her musical production and arrangements weave together a tapestry of warm alto lush vocals and harmonies with keyboard, bass, guitar, drums, percussion, saxophone and flute. She has been on ImaginAsian Radio since inception and we are glad to see her website up and running and we would love to share with you her news: First, she will be playing at the Summer Jazz Concert in San Diego, California (please see Events section for more information). Also she has been spreading her love for music by teaching voice lessons, if you are tone deaf or are just a bad singer and would like to get your vocal cords a good tuning, please visit www.phyllischang.com for more information. Tina Sugandh - The songs on TablaGirl are musical tapestries that bring together the influences of Sugandh’s native India: the peaceful ghazals, the hardcore beat-driven sound of bhangra, and the phenomenally popular Bollywood soundtracks. Yet, by applying a contemporary sensibility to these styles, the singer has created a sound that will undoubtedly speak to pop music lovers everywhere, regardless of their cultural origins. Tina has just announced that she set up a Blog on her site at www.tinasugandh.blogspot.com. According to Ms. Sugandh, this is the most efficient way for her to keep her fans up to date on the latest regarding her personal life and career. Speaking of which, she just announced that a remix of Break Me has just been released on her MySpace. See!! It pays to log on frequently to www.tinasugandh.com. Just In
