Mira Veda and The Huffington Post

Singer, Songwriter, R&B Diva Mira Veda has been known to be a renaissance woman, whether it involves being on the Grammy Awards' committee to heading up Veda Records. These days, Mira is working on a second album, which will include more of the ethnic sounds she heard her mother use while growing up. She is also working on a collaboration with Chebi Sabbah, Rishi Rish, and Karsh Kale.

Never one to shy away from her many talents, she is now writing a blog for The Huffington Post. It is a publication that covers everything from politics and business to media and entertainment. Be sure to log onto www.huffingtonpost.com, then click on the "entertainment tab" and look for her article. For more information, please log on to www.miraveda.com.

What's going on with Asian and Asian American Artists

Gossip, News, and Randoms: What's Going on with Asian and Asian American Artists?

Cynthia Lin - Since Cynthia's debut release in January of 2005, she has become a staple of the regional touring circuit. Cynthia has supported numerous major acts including Vienna Teng and Emm Gryner. She has been featured on TV, radio, and at Toronto's NXNE Festival. The music video for her song I'm Shy was selected to premiere at the 2005 Asian American International Film Festival. Cynthia is currently recording a new album, while experimenting with strings, horns, and self-production.

Her new EP, Doppelganger, is truly a labor of love. For instance, she personally designed the album cover. You can witness the production process for yourself on her MySpace site. The album is now available for pre-order. You can also get a sneak preview of the seven song album on various sites online. For more information, please visit www.cynthialin.com.

Faith Rivera - As a positive music artist based in Long Beach, California, Faith has performed around the globe. She has collaborated with the likes of the Honolulu Symphony, Grammy-winner Daniel Ho, as well as best-selling authors like Marianne Williamson, Neale Donald Walsch, and Michael Beckwith. Her inspiring catalogue of songs has earned countless accolades, including the 2006 New Age Album of the Year for Suncatcher.

This year Faith Rivera's Colors of Praise is one of four finalists in the Contemporary Christian category for the 7th Annual Independent Music Awards. While judges like Duncan Sheik and Ice-T will choose the winners in each category, you can still do your part! Support indie music and positive songwriting by voting. For more information, please visit www.faithrivera.com for more information.

Alfa Garcia - She has relented to her musical fate. A singer/songstress since the age of 13, who cut her first demo at 15, Alfa Garcia is now a seasoned performer all over Manhattan. Alfa has been around the figurative musical block with her start as a classical pianist under Dr. Raul Sunico, then a violinist, before finding her niche as a songwriter. Now she performs a blend of her classical and church background, as well as self-taught guitar skills.

She has played numerous gigs nationwide and has been featured all over the place. Her latest television interview, on KSCI TV in Los Angeles, is now posted on her MySpace site, under her blog. For more information, please visit www.alfa-music.com.
