Heather Park at Village Underground in NYCInfluenced equally by hip-hop beats and neo-soul sirens, Park's debut album is an intimate affair as her understated cool comes across in every syllable she sings. The title track has a trip-hop twinkle and The Life is a mesmerizing statement with bits and pieces of an orchestra popping in and out. Park's personal lyrics reflect on her experiences as a Korean-American but really she just wants to find her way as a citizen of life. This week in the birth place of hip hop, New York City, Heather Park will take the stage to perform some oldies but goodies and will also lace the audience that will be in the building with some new material off the upcoming LP. For more information on the concert, please check the Events section below or go to www.hearthepark.com. Gossip, News & Randoms: What's going on with Asian and Asian American Artists

Abe Chang - Abe's music is an eclectic blend of his poetic verse set to a vibrant mix of hard rock, folk, indie, and pop-punk. Each song tells a story, often of redemption and heartbreak. Abe's material not only touches on the emotional tides of the human condition, but he also writes songs that are infused with humor, wit, and the joy of a fast beating heart. On Thursday, October 11th, 2007, he will be playing at The Annual Autumn Audio Extravaganza – ROCKTOBER. This is a FREE event.
