Roli Rho has been deejaying for a crazy 17 years. Roli has cut his teeth in the field of rocking parties and making crowds dance with longtime mobile DJ crew IntroBass Productions 2 and 5th Platoon, bringing some fame to his name in the club circuit all over the East Coast.

Roli was displaying his urban blends and hot party mixes before he became known as one of the fiercest beat jugglers known today. Need proof? Back to back VIBE MUSIC SEMINAR CHAMPION 1999 - 2000, baby!

Gossip, News & Randoms:
What's going on with Asian and Asian American Artists

Crash and burn? So there’s this really important show that took place yesterday at the Crash Mansion. According to Vudoo Soul's Xanga blog, it was the most important night of his career. I don’t know about you, but after hitting American soil fresh off the boat (and what I mean by that is that he just finished a series of concerts in Hong Kong) and living off of only 1 to 2 hours of sleep, I’m ready to call it a night. With big names of the music industry showing, and Vudoo flying his mom out, you know last night was “oh too late” for those who weren’t there.

Visionaries are leaking their first four new tracks off their “Carving a New Standard Vol. 1” album. You can catch them at www.myspace.com/upaboverecords

Looking for the fountain of youth? Ask Rufio aka Dante Basco. Reality check people, it’s not Never Never Land, Rufio is dead and Lost Boys do grow up. Sorta. Dante Basco is tapping into his youth and starring in the new movie with Antonio Banderas, “Take the Lead,” about inner city kids learning to dance. Six to ten hours a day were spent learning the waltz, tango, foxtrot, rhumba while infusing it with hip hop and own personal style. From what I hear, Dante may be taking the lead when he hustles our own Simran onto the dance floor. Interview to be released at a radio station near you. OURS!!

DJ Don’t Quit, is what she sings. And we got no excuses when she dropped into our studio last Friday April 7, 2006. Catch the interview where she lays it all down about the fame, the hustle and how a New York minute flies by quicker than the hips of a girl at a luau.

Welcome our new addition to our radio roster, Bleud! These Jersey boys are making a lot of noise especially last week when they rocked CBGB’s. With all that going on, they are shooting their new video for Anime Girl. Storyboards are up and locations are in the running for the shoot, all they now need is a cast. Stay tuned or just catch their new album, "Musings of a Caffeine Addict."

Leave your name and number after the beep and I will get back to you as soon as possible. BEEP. That’s what you guys or girls are going to get when you reach Maggie Kim’s line. Newly single, and looking for fun is the name of the game. All hotties (boys and girls, she ain’t going to discriminate) need apply. I’m thinking bikinis and martinis.

Just In

Bleud
They're Jersey boys hailing from Jersey City, and making their rounds in the music world. Don’t hate because talent actually comes out of New Jersey. Granted, their sound is different from the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi but with tracks that are raw and heartfelt with a punk edge, I suggest you check out their CD, “Musings of a Caffeine Addict”.

The iOs
Nu-garde bands like the iOs rock harder than their counterparts, pairing their bright synth washes with skuzzy guitars to catchy effect – Village Voice

The iO’s full album debut will drop on May 16 of this year. We recommend “Who’s the Blonde?” With the warm weather kicking in, I think it's time to break out those highlights.

Richey Lam
Handsome, charming, awesome, spectacular, and... modest were the five words that this gentleman used to describe himself. Contradiction? Maybe, but one thing for sure is that with his constant touring and hard work, he is picking up quite a few fans as he tornadoes through towns with his live performances. His vocals and the strum of the guitars reminds you of those Starbucks moments when you’re sitting down with that venti café mocha latte gazing at the cutie two tables over. With tracks like Undercover, Saturday Cartoons, Coffee Machine, and College Years, how can you say no? It’s like refusing the free biscotti with your fancy sounding coffee. You dig?

Elaine Lachica
Lachica's vocal ramifications will remind you of Liz Fraser, Lisa Gerrard, even a certain tone Jeff Buckley used now and again... a less humorous Jane Siberry, maybe, a less technocentric, less histrionic, but sweeter and indier Kate Bush. - Marco Sangiacomo

Keahiwai
Aloha! Kick back and relax, because I can swear to you that you can feel the tropical breeze kiss your face as their voices permeate the air. Makes you want to cruise the boardwalk and stop in for a drink at the tiki bar. I suggest the track “Fits So Well” because that’s what it does. It fits. That well.

Re-up

The guys on iaList had a blast interviewing Dante Basco about his role in the upcoming movie, "Take the Lead," and had a nice chat with Jasmine Trias last week. Pete attended her show at Roxy and is convinced that this girl has what it takes to make a mega empire! (check out pics in our gallery!)

DJ Mariati from Karate Rice Hour interviewed the Notorious MSG boys in the studio and found out their future plans. They will be performing next week with at the ISFEST as well, so don’t forget to check em out!
