Center Stage

Jasmin Trias

Born on November 3, 1986 in Mililani, Hawaii, Jasmine Soriano Trias is a sweet, talented, intelligent, passionate, caring, and strikingly beautiful singer and performer. At age 16, she auditioned for the popular reality T.V. show "American Idol” and became the first ever Filipino-American and Hawaii born to reach third place in the competition.

She released her self titled debut album in stores on July 12, 2005. Her new CD introduces an edgier, rhythm and blues-based sound. Jasmine's debut album is being distributed throughout the United States, the Philippines, and Japan by Universal Music and Aloha Music. It contains 14 songs produced and written by multi-platinum industry leaders, like Diane Warren and Vincent Herbert, and a remake by Sean "P. Diddy" Combs.

Be sure to check out the interview on Sunday, April 9, 9pm EST on 96.1 FM KSQQ and online on www.imaginasianradio.com

Gossip, News & Randoms:
What's going on with Asian and Asian American Artists

IF IT'S FREE, IT'S FOR ME: Actually, its for all the Wayne Hsu fans out there. He has decided that he wants to make a new demo that is downloadable for free for all his fans because he wants you to be rocking out to every word that isn’t on his “A Boy Named Hsu EP”. So tune in once his website is done or hit him up on AIM (screen name: waynehsumusic) and request those songs.

PUTNAM HALL ON DEMAND: Forget the colleges, South Cali High schools is where it is at. Paying homage to where they grew up, they want to make appearances and play at YOUR SCHOOL! With the school year wrapping, they know how it is as the weather gets warmer and you’re counting down until you can break free!! What better way to end the day with Putnam Hall rocking your school.

KEN OAK FALL 2006 TOUR: Without the fans, there can be no band. Ken Oak knows this and wants to know where all his fans are so he can give you all of him, along with his band and cello in tow. He wants to know where you want him during the months of October and November, so shoot an email at booking@kenoakband.com and get him before he’s gone.

IN THE KEY OF M?: Almost. Mira Veda graced us with her presence at our studios on April 4, 2006 for an interview and brought along her cousin who by the way sang a beautiful rendition of one Christina Aguilera’s song off the Stripped album. Watch out for her soon....coming soon to iaList!

NUZ AT THE GRAMMYS?: With Mira? Nahhhhhh, can’t be. We have heard off the record that she might be taking him along for the ride next year… catch the interview and find out!!

MAY 16, 2006: Mark your calendars fans of Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, Interpool. The iOs debut album “In Sunday Songs” will be dropping that day. Catch their first single off that album on April 18, 2006 called Resident Alien.

Just In

New and all for you! Catch our new artists that have been added to our roster. Send in your requests and propel them into TOP 40 stardom!

Francis Kim: Nobody Loves You. Seriously. Well, that’s the name of their newest album.

Titoflex: Having replaced their guitarist they are ready to get rocked by their fans.

IBU: Spring is coming, and there is spring fever in the air. Add IBU in the mix and you’ll get melodies made for girls to swoon a la Boys II Men.

Angela Ai: “The visceral, startling power of Angela Ai’s voice is matched only by the unapologetic snarl of her lyrics.” – The Performing Songwriter Magazine, Top 12 DIY Picks

Dual: A post rock blend of gritty and expansive melodic grooves. Think Sarah McLachlan with more of a sensuous, laid back groove.

Justin Young: I can already envision the islands of Hawaii, while smelling the sea infused air. Think of bikinis, surfer boys and frozen cocktails while you’re being soothed by Young’s soft guitar.

Lijie Yang: Like a porcelain Hummer H2 her lyrics are fragile yet forceful, echoing a heartache familiar… - www.theowlmag.com

Splitsense: If you’re looking for catchy hooks, identifiable messages coupled with thundering riffs and pounding drums post Linkin Park, Splitsense has got it.

ImaginAsian Radio launch

Last week on March 30, ImaginAsian Radio celebrated its launch with a showcase of different genres. Miss Info hosted the event and DJ Roli and Jay Dhabhi both had the crowd spinning. Check out pictures of the party in our gallery.

On Anil-Ki-Awaaz last week, Anil turned the tables on his callers and asked them to ask him questions instead. He was willing to bare his soul and tell the entire truth. So which caller had the juiciest question?
