Daniel Ho, 49th Annual Grammy Award Winner

February 8th, 2006 marked a career milestone for Daniel Ho. He was awarded the music industry's top honor--a Grammy for his work as a producer and artist on the album "Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, vol. 1 (Daniel Ho Creations)." He returned to the podium at the Los Angeles Convention Center on February 11, 2007 to receive his second Grammy for Legends of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, Live from Maui." Congratulations to Daniel Ho, George Kahumoku, Jr., Led Kaapana, Cyril Pahinui, Dennis Kamakahi, Martin Pahinui, Keoki Kahumoku, Ozzie Kotani, Richard Ho'opi'i, Bobby Ingano, and Da 'Ukulele Boyz!

What's going on with Asian and Asian American Artists


UVSA 25th Lunar New Year Tet Festival - The Union of Vietnamese Student Associations of Southern California aspires to make the silver anniversary of its yearly Tet festival the most exuberant one yet. The three days of festivities are brimming with live entertainment, games, exhibits, food, and its highly-anticipated Miss Vietnam of Southern California pageant. All of those not vying for a tiara are still invited to partake in flower-arranging, photography, singing, and chess competitions.

Festivities take place from February 17-19, 10am-10pm at 9301 Westminster Blvd., Garden Grove, CA. Adults: $5, Children: $4, Toddlers: FREE. On Saturday, February 17, 2007 from 10am till 1pm ONLY, anyone that wears a complete outfit Αo Dΰi (Vietnamese Traditional dress) will get a FREE admission into the festival during those hours. Houston Tet Festival - The don’t-mess-with-me state presents a larger-than-life take on the Vietnamese New Year. Entertainment options are endless and include everything from a traditional New Year blessing ceremony to a DJ battle-to-the-finish. The festival also teems with music, games, competitions, and naturally, the best of Vietnamese vittles.

Eugene Song – The man has been playing shows all over NYC and has made quite a name for himself within the Asian American music industry. He has embarked on a HUGE project, starting his own record label, Born in Chinese, www.borninchinese.com. The first release from the brand new label will be, COMPILASIAN, a compilation album featuring a who’s who of Asian American musicians and spans the genres of rock, pop, acoustic, and the singer songwriters. It features artists, such as, Cynthia Lin, Isul Kim, Blip Blip Bleep, Alfa, Annie Lin, Eugene Song and more.

The album will drop real soon so keep your eyes peeled for it; ImaginAsian Radio Newsletter will have the latest updates. A huge congrats goes out to Eugene Song.
