Asian American Music Showcase #7

The Asian American Musician Showcase (AAMS) is a music series produced by Monkey King Records to promote awareness of local Asian American musicians. The AAMS resumes February 15, 2007 at the Luggage Store for AAMS 7! Unlike previous showcases, AAMS 7 will exhibit some of the Bay Area’s most unique improvisational and experimental musicians to launch The Asian American Musician Showcase in 2007.

This showcase features Say Bok Choy: Say Bok Gwai Large Ensemble, Ray of Mojo of My Heart and Vholtz will take place on Thursday, February 15, 2007, 7:30pm at The Luggage Store, 1007 Market Street, San Francisco. What's going on with Asian and Asian American Artists


2007 NTDTV Chinese New Year Spectacular - The New Tang Dynasty Television presents the 2007 Chinese New Year Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on February 14-17, 2007. The show celebrates the ancient Chinese culture with legendary tales, classical melodies, traditional dragon dances, and a world-class music and dance performances. Chinese New Year Spectacular has received great acclaims throughout North America, Europe, and Asia with its 29 cities worldwide tour. Sub Swara featuring State of Bengal – The Crew will be kicking off 2006 with a storm as comrade and musical legend, State of Bengal (Sam Zaman), returns to NYC with a blazing live set at Element, located 225 E. Houston St. at Essex St. in NYC, on Friday Feb. 2, 2007. This will be the global CD pre-release party for Sam’s highly anticipated new album SKIP-IJ. Available everywhere Feb. 27, 2007.

Asian Jammin’ – This monthly Asian American comedic and music showcase has been running for the last year and it is still going strong. It takes place at the Laugh Lounge in NYC and for this month’s installment; they are featuring a Valentine’s Day Special where your date gets in for FREE!!! It will feature hosts Air Tabigue and Tom Teska and musical acts Bleud, Michael Christian and Abe Chang and comedians; Jason Jung, Jay Amplo and Ryo Koike. Make it a point to be in attendance for this show taking place at The Laugh Lounge, located at 151 Essex St. in NYC on February 13, 2007 from 8:30-10pm.
