Broken For Good Records (BFG), a NYC-based indie record label, founded by Koo Chung, aims to create top-quality music ranging from acoustic pop/rock to jazz and even R & B. Great emphasis is placed on the message and songwriting quality of each artist. Upon listening to artists such as Koo Chung, Jinny Kim, and Neah Lee, one will notice how they have individually carved out a unique style that they can call their own.

Gossip, News & Randoms:
What's going on with Asian and Asian American Artists

With new tour dates in SoCal, Terry Matsuoka is a busy bee for the next couple of weeks. With hopes for new dates in the Pacific Northwest, he hopes to come around to hang with current friends and make new ones! Hitting a snag with some tech problems while recording his new album hasn’t stopped him from upgrading his guitar!

Kevin So on CBS! His talent is finally getting recognition on a bigger platform. Performing “Karoline”, “One Big Happy Family”, and “A Brighter Day” on the silver screen has given our Kevin So the opportunity to play for Liz Walker (a fixture on the Sunday show since he was a little boy) and Jack Williams. A beautiful grand piano that was set up for his performance, helpful camera crew, and excellent lighting only ensured good times for all.

Lucky Boys Confusion's New EP to Debut on June 20th! How To Get Out Alive EP is the first official new release from the band since their second major label album Commitment on the now defunct Elektra Records. Lucky Boys Confusion will celebrate the release of the new EP with Five Night Stand, a small club residency in their hometown of Chicago June 20-June 24 at the Beat Kitchen. Each night will feature something musically different, spanning the bands' career. Tickets for these shows are now on sale. The band will follow these shows with two acoustic instore performances and signings, one at Borders in Champaign, IL on Sunday, June 25, and the second at Tower Records in Bloomingdale, IL on Tuesday, June 27. Lucky Boys Confusion will then hit the road on a nationwide tour supporting Jive recording artists Bowling for Soup June 28th through August 29th.

Heather Park and MTVK: With the new channel to debut on June 27th, Heather wants the support and the love she knows is out there for her. Up against heavy hitters such as Amerie, she needs your votes to get “The Life Remix” named as first video ever to be played on the channel. So vote fast!

Putnam Hall, Warped Tour Finals @ House Of Blues, Anaheim, California. They are IN and on to the FINALS of Warped Tour. If you thought the energy was hot at the last show, it’s going to be on fire when they play at the House of Blues! Check the events for the finer details.

Snacky Chan is now on the Sold Out label. Let's hope he gets the recognition he deserves!

Just In

Check out some of these latest tunes on www.imaginasianradio.com!

Charmaine Clamor || Searching For The Soul
Jazz, ialist
"With her deep, contralto voice, Charmaine Clamor interprets standards with the kind of sincere feeling that sends a message along the straight and narrow without detour. You're left with no doubts. She's forthright, convincing and talented." –Jim Santella LA Jazz Scene

Nickodemus || Endangered Species
Electronica/Funk, iaList
Fusing funk and electronica, tracks such as “Give the Drummer Some” gives you that funky groove that your head can’t stop grooving to. Turn the dial to “Global Village” and it has enough of a rhyme and a hip hop beat to get to you put it on repeat. “Mystery of Life” is what Enigma would have been if it was pared down and headed East. A must-hear!

Hiromi || SpiralGenre
Jazz, iaList
"Committed to making her music evolve, Hiromi offers eight original category-bashing compositions in a trio format that fuses elements of jazz, pop, classical, and avant-garde into a deceptively intense listening experience." –Telarc

Hoobastank || Every Man For Himself
Rock, iaList
"Every Man For Himself is a great album that will probably be hard for fans who expect nothing but empty radio hits from the band to swallow. The expansion of the entire band, especially guitarist Dan Estrin, is pretty huge, and subsequently, you have songs like blues-rock anthem Look Where We Are, and innuendo-filled jazz/funk track Inside Of You (seriously, listen to the lyrics, they're hilarious). There are a number of other tracks that wouldn't have come from a past 'stank album, and it's good that such is the case. They have their fans now, they can only hope that the singles that Island chooses to release catch on enough not to alienate them. Highly recommended, but only as long as you know what you're getting yourself into." –411.com
