Hi Anil,
Hi Anil, Not really a request here, but I could not find any e-mail link on the website and so I thought I might put my comments through this - Caught this site while surfing the web for an Indian Radio Channel, and Boy... was I lucky to have spotted this one. Its Saturday, and i have been listening to you all day long. I am located in Kansas, and while we do not really have a Hindi Radio channel, this Internet based radio, really helps a lot. your show "Anil Ki Awaaz" is really lovely and I am in love. Just another addition to the thousands of Indian - Amreicans who have been listening to you all these days. Must say, the show is great,, I have loved it all. Nice to know that you don't really have that irritating ABCD accent and hindi that you speak is clear and good. Keep up the good work,, I have loved the show.

Anil, - Reactions to the Attack on America Show
First want to let you know how much I enjoy your program...a real change from the other programs that have been on for several years and that I stopped listening to quite some time ago. Your commentary is refreshing and I sincerely hope you receive enough support and endorsements to stay on the air. I am a little surprised folks are not calling in to expound their views and engage you in some form of debate. I have been, along with everyone affected beyond measure by the recent disaster in New York and in our capital. I did not personally know anyone who lost their loved one, but their sorrow is unimaginable. A few fanatics have changed lives for the rest of the world forever and I hope we will all (whether we voted for him or not) support President Bush in his efforts to end this threat for all time. I come from a military family...past and present...in India and know the fear and sorrow of losing a family member or friend who gave theri life to preserve freedom for those who are left behind. Let us hope we can have a peaceful resolution to this and not have to resort to actions where innocent lives will be be sacrificed. We of course now also have to deal with the backlash on our community by ignorant fellow citizens. You may have already seen this article as it is making the rounds on the email circuit...was sen to me by my brother in Canada. I am in awe of the spirit and generosity of the American people and how they rally to help those in need. It has been evident as long as I can remember and I hope once again we will all work together as one to make this a better place for our future generations. I know the message is sort of lenghty, but you might want to include some excerpts on your next program. Maybe one of these days, I will get enough courage to call and express my views on your program..

Hey, Reactions to the Attack on America Show
Your show yesterday was the *best* show I have heard ever since I started tuning in to Anil Ki Awaaz. Did not see that side of you before, dude..very warm and compassionate..what an appropriate selection in music! Good job, keep it up.
In solidarity, Geeta

Anil, Reactions to the Attack on America Show
I told Amy already, and I would be remiss if I didn't write to compliment you on the excellent way you ran your show today in light of the weeks events. You lifted the spirits of many people today including mine, comforted the devestating losses of others, and voiced concerns for the way people are being treated now and concerns for our options for the future. To me, you and your show capture the real spirit that is America, not just now, but each week. Beyond that, realizing and stating today that what is hopefully occurring now in our world is a patriotism for humanity, not just this country, is a very enlightened view. I hung up a flag the other day that I have had for a long time, and I couldn't figure out what is prompting me to put it up now. It is not the reason that some do, seeing the US as #1 and damn all who don't think so. It is a symbol to me for the freedoms that we enjoy here that should be enjoyed everywhere, a call for worldwide peace and unity, and the preciousness of life. The power of free communication that you are a big part of, and becoming a bigger part of, is something we have taken for granted here in this country because we are just so used to it. I wanted to extend to you how proud I am of the way you all came to the call today, as you have in times of crisis such as the devestating earthquake in India. You made me even more proud to be American today. Thank you.

Hi Anil,
Anil when I used to hear you talk on your show about how you wished to be in films. I used to wonder how lucky could you be to be gifted with both a good voice and good looks. But you are hardly bad looking as I had imagined. Infact your picture from the website should be scrapped. Braving my guts out can I say.. That it is possibly the ugliest picture of you someone could post there. It is horrible. And if you look great in a cap then why not get a studio shoot like that. It can be a cheerful change. I must say you aren't photogenic at all so better get a studio shoot. Moreover it might help you in other initiatives in movies if they come now. I hope your loving wife wouldn't be jealous if you read this letter out to her and told her that one of my listeners find me really good looking. Well for a relief I am married as well and even my husband thinks that I am not wrong about your picture at your website. I am not going to talk about your show or your website as I have seen your listeners have written a great deal to tell you about it already. It was just so nice of you that you were approaching everyone individually. Pandit ji was very warm too .. though I owe a lot of it to his urdu zabaan which was incredible. This is my first letter to you and the only reason I am writing is coz I realized that none of your listeners were writing to you and giving you credit for your great voice which is so noticeable. So finally I couldnt' hold it longer. I wish you could move into movies or at least in serials. I wish I knew one producer in media. Unfortunately after coming to the US I am reduced to a writer and down the drain go all my contacts. Kidding!! I want to also appreciate the work the wonderful looking people in your team are doing. It was people like you that made emotions run high during the picnic party at Mercer County Have a jolly bolly day

Hi Anil,
I have been in NJ for a year and work for a software co. (lo an behold - not a programmer as expected) as Asst Vice President. I have listened to your prog. many times and the quality of programming is excellent. at par with the best of stations in india today (which i'm sure you know has changed vastly for the better in the recent years). Do keep it up and hope the onset of easy accessibility of indian TV channels in the area doesn't dampen you. It's like the palm pilot which can never threaten the regular address book coz' a palm pilot can never hold dried rose leaves and memories. All the best.
Cheers Veenu
Hi Anil,
Whenever my family and I listen to your radio shows on the weekends, we all agree that you talk more than you play songs. It's really annoying and boring. We listen to the radio to hear Indian songs, not your stupid conversations. I'm sure that if you talked less, you would have more listeners that appreciate the station and its efforts. Please consider our opinion.
Cheers Payal
Hi Anil,
I was just browsing thru' all the letters/feedbacks about your site & found that most of the people who listen to your shows are based out of North America You will be surprised to know that this is not the case. There are lots of Indians outside the USA who share the same thoughts as millions across the globe.I am based out of Dubai & tune (read web) in to ur shows regularly & this is despite the fact that we have a local FM station which beams down Hindi songs 24 hours but it just does not carry the punch & the sincerity that your shows have !!! Keep up the good work !! promise that we will try our best to promote your site in this part of the globe !!!
Cheers
Ramesh
DEAR ANIL. (Reactions to 'A Tribute to Kargil')
LOVE YOUR PROGRAM, LISTEN TO IT EVERY SATURDAY. THE INDEPENDENCE DAY PROGRAM WAS EXCELLENT, BUT JUST FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS WRITTEN BY MRS. JAYSHREE MERCHANT. I THINK SHE DESERVES RECOGNITION FOR IT. YOUR STYLE OF RENDITION WAS VERY GOOD, BUT WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT SUCH GOOD PENMANSHIP? KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK THAT MAKES OUR SATURDAY MORNINGS A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE,GIVES US GOOSEBUMPS AND SOMETIMES BRINGS A TEAR TO OUR EYES.
THANKS AGAIN. JR
Hi Anil,(Reactions to 'A Tribute to Kargil')
You are right yours is Anil ki awaaz and not All Idia Radio. It reminds me of Mahabharat. Wherein Draupadi and Gandhari refuse to give the VIJAYSHREE aashirvad to either side. The reason being and in the words from the sho AKHIR TO SHAV HAMERE HI GIRENGE. NA ISME KISIKI HAAR HAI YA JEET I feel this way of all wars with our neighbour. I was in NCC in 1962 when the first China India war started and have witnessed this senseless killing since then. Great show of yours, keep it up
Dilip
Hi Anil,(Reactions to 'A Tribute to Kargil')
Those patriotic sogns you played today were excellent and hope will revive badly needed patriotic sense towards the motherland. Too many misguided young ones and elders alike think that we should behave like Americans; and we are. In America, there is no culture and only available culture is the one we brought with us. So let ustry our best to keep it. Keep up the good work.

Dear Anil,
I am Parag, an INDIAN. I am proud to be an Indian and I have heard your program today playing great songs. I will appreciate if you can send me a list of songs you played today on this Independance Special program like 'Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo', 'Jab Zero Diya Mere Bharat Ne...' etc. I would like to record all and create a CD to send it to my Dad back there in India. Or if you have all songs on 1 CD then I would like to buy it. Awaiting for your reply and wishing everybody at Indiaradio.com a Very Happy Independace Day. You guys are doing a great job. I salute you :-)

Hi Anil,
Congratulations!!!!!today's show was a success and you made the point very loud and clear and I hope a lot of people listened to it today than usual. Me and my family (my husband Kunal and daughters Sunaina and Kaveri) loved the show for Independence Day today. I cried the whole time and we blasted our stereos in all the rooms and enjoyed it very much. We did stand up during the national anthem and actually we always do... my husband and I were talking about you that you could make a CD about this program and sell it at the Penns Landing and you said on the show that you are selling the cassette...we are both living in this country for almost 20 years and still get very emotional about various things about India....I wish I could really make a change....one suggestion....may be you can think about starting the program and then ending it also with the national anthem to continue the spirit that you started today...and please let me know what you think of the suggestions we give you....you talk about touching a cord???/ we were all very much into the program and did not want it to end......keep it up..... Kavita and Kunal
Hi Anil,
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and convey my best wishes on the eve of our independence day. The tribute to our Kargil Heroes (the Saturday 08/14) show was extraordinarily superb and best suited for the dedicated soldiers of India. I was on my way home (Princeton) from Bridgewater Temple where I volunteer and was listening to Anil Ki Awaaz. I was able to catch the last 45 minutes of the special segment the tribute to our Kargil Soldiers on the Eve of Our Independence Day. The whole ride was hair rising, emotional and brought tears to my cheeks. The show really touched the innermost chords of my heart. The tears were not just sympathetic to the Heroes. Those were filled with pride and respect for our motherland and dedication to our beloved soldiers. I have been reading the news on our war heroes and was moved by the torture they had to go through as POWs. My prayers go to the families of the dedicated soldiers. They have been so unselfish and patriotic in sacrificing their sons/husbands/fathers/brothers to our country. I appreciate your efforts in raising funds to support the families of the Kargil Heroes. I would like to join in your drive to raise some funds. I would like to contact all my friends and get them contribute towards this drive. To start with I would like to donate some money so if you can send me the information it would be greatly appreciated. I always was apprehensive in sending donations to India in fear of misuse by the corrupt and bureucratic organizations. However, knowing that you have setup the fund taking into such concerns I am comfortable in sending my donations. This was the best show I ever heard paying tribute to the dedicated soldiers. God bless all our Kargil Heroes and their families. Our soldiers need to know that all our countrymen are very proud of their dedications. Long live India! Jai Hind!
Hi Anil,
Your website is a great pleasure to listen to. I particularly like your shows like Tribute to Mukesh - great!! I am one of those old old songs enthusiast and would like to hear more such tributes to old great singers like Saigal, Pankaj, Jag Mohan, Hemant Kumar, Talat Mehmud, Mohommad Rafi, etc. Please keep up the good work. -- Soli P. Dastur
Hi Anil,
I got the India Radio Web URL, today first time and liked the look and feel of the Home Page. As Dev Anand is my biggest favorite ever, I immediately turned to the Dev Anand Special, which is special ! I am a Software Engineer at Colorado Springs and I do miss home a lot. The song collection, especially, the `Har Phikra Ko [Hum Dono]', and, `Tere Mere Sapne [Guide]' took me home back to my house in Bombay where I saw those songs on TV. Thanks for evoking the great memories. I have a small request for a song. I would be highly grateful if you could play it on a request. The song is for my friend Madhusoodan who lives in Omaha, Nebraska and is into Database Management. It is from the Movie, GODHAN based on the classic book by the Indian writer, Premchand. It stars, Rajkumar, Mehmood and Usha Kiran. Sung by Mohammed Rafi, the song strongly speaks of going back to our villages and has strong imagery of our rural life. Even if you could play it on one of your shows, which I will now look forward to, I will appreciate it. I hope you consider my request favorably. Regards, Yadavendra.
Dear Anil,
I love Anil ki Avaaz. I wait all week just to listen to the show. I fantisize about listening to the show for 24hrs. Is there any chance that my fantasy will come true? I heard our Desi's have enough money to buy 10 GM's (General Motors). Can't they have a radio station in US? Is it that difficult. What would it take to have the show 24 hrs and 365 days?
Sridhar Katta
Hi Anil,
You are certainly doing a wonderful job sitting out there. I have just recently got married and come to USA and I miss home like crazy. But the only thing i don't miss are the new update of hindi songs which are always there to listen and enjoy on your show and at your site. I and my friends out here are eagerly waiting for the day when Anil Ki Awaz will be aired everyday. Waiting for Saturdays is a sucking problem. And if just in case we happen to travel out of NJ,Oooooof!!! my mood goes phuss. Can you announce on your show when is the earliest we can expect to hear the show daily or atleast on Sundays as well. Keep up the good humour G L!!!!! (GOOD LUCK) Swasti & Vikas
Hi Anil,
Your show was great this Sat.
You're remarks about Shah-Rukh and Salman, are hilarious. I mean, you call them Nanga-Langur...what could be funnier than that. I mean, I laugh so hard when you say that. I forget to who or why you say it, but the point is it's funny, that's what counts! Laughter is the best medicine. You don't even need the medical segment on the show!!
Thanks.
Rupal
Hi,
I just want to say that it was a great show today, I really enjoyed it. It seems that you and Raju make a good team, it's nice to hear both of you chat. I can't even wait to see your gup-shup on AVS tomorrow. Anyway, I just can't make sense of how you do everything: I mean, you have a full time job, your wife's gonna have a baby, you do four radio shows, and now you'll be on TV ( AVS ) . I am a little overwhelmed. And all the time you spend travelling, where do you get the energy from. I guess it is the power and enthusiasm of your will, well whatever it is I truely admire this amazing ability of yours. I have always worked hard with my studies, but I hope that when I go out and work some day, I do it with as much spirit and passion as you do. Most of all you have proved the people who think Indians are just meant to be doctors and engineers to be wrong, and I wish to do the same some day. I do not need to flatter you, but you do inspire me.
Mohini
Dear Anil,
My wife Kalpana had written to you some time ago, I heard Anil ki awaaz for the first time last saturday, My most pleasent surprise was the kannada song 'Neera Bittu...
'
This song took me a long way down memory lane, to a little compound , tucked away in the heart of Bangalore, Four families struggling to make ends meet would share a large phillips radio tuned in to 'Vivid Bharathi'.
I can still vividly remember the smell of firewood burning for hot water, Jimmy the compound dog wandering around. I used to ride along with my Dad on his cycle to school.
More recently it reminded me of four young engineers fresh out of college , enjoying a taste of new found freedom from recently acquired Mobikes ,sitting along the banks of the river cauvery, singing our favourite songs . Each had a dream in his heart, and a task ahead to fullfill those dreams and responsibilities.
Thats what casual listening to 'Anil Ki Awaaz' ended up with!. Please do keep playing such kannada songs in the future. Finally, Kalpana & me wish you success in all your endeavers, after all like everyone of us you too have come to this land with a dream.
Warm Regds
Venky
Dear Mr. Srivatsa,
I am an avid listener of your show and feel you do an absolutely wonderful job on it. Keep up the good work!! Your music selections are great; some radio shows play only old songs or only new ones (usually old). The commentary is also lively and keeps the listeners entertained. I must admit, I was quite disappointed about a month ago when I heard you were going to be in India; but Ramesh Krishnan was fabulous, and was great while sitting in for you. I've listened to Anil- Ki-Awaaz just about every week for the past year, from the very first show, and it has been great throughout. I hope you continue this show for quite some time, as many people enjoy it, and it's probably the highlight of everyone's Saturday. It's probably the best thing to wake up to in the morning!! Keep up the great work!!
Revathi
Hi Anil,
I am proud that you are also from Bangalore. I always listen to ANIL KI AWAAZ and tell all my friends about it.
It would be nice if we had a show on Saturdays and Sundays from say 8:30AM to 10:30 PM. My wife and I wait to listen to all the songs. I have a number of friends in NewYork city who would like to tune in to the show but unfortunately the signal does not reaching them.
Did you try and speak to AIR regarding having a full fledged station for the North American continent reaching millions of Indians in USA & Canada. May be with the popularity you have here it may be possible or possibly ABCL.
Many of my friends like the way you present the program.
Murali
Hi Anilji,
I am Sejal. I always listen to your show and it is very good infact my whole family loves it.
I am concerned about a comment you made in your last show. You said some one called and told you that you were not good and told you that you were cheating and all that stuff. WHO CARES? If that person does not listen to you... too bad. It's not going to stop others from listening to your show. Your show is great and everyone loves it here. I mean I called so many times for the dialogue pehchano quiz. I never got it. So it's a game... you are lucky if you win. Who cares? I didn’t make a big deal out of it. Moreover, I know that you are not cheating... I mean why would you. In conclusion, all I have to say is that MR. ANIL SRIVATSA. Your show ANIL KI AWAAZ is fantastic and dumb people, like the one who called you, are stupid because they only care for themselves. If they don’t listen than they are missing a lots of things. And you are great. It's cool.
Sejal
Dear Anil,
always a pleasure to tune in to your show. I always try to make sure that I can be near the radio on Saturday mornings, lest I miss it. I enjoy your deft blend of music, news and commercial announcements.
I do have a suggestion to make, not that you have to take it, for you know your art much more than I do, but sure I would like to find out what you have to say about it. I think it would be helpful if you could announce the names of the artists along with the songs. It will create a better appreciation of the artists and will probably aid your audience with their music collections. Currently you do so only occasionally. However, I understand that it will cost you time and thus you will have to decide if it would be worth it or not.
Finally, a request, I would like to hear a song from the movie, "Mughal-i-Azam" if possible.
Once again, I appreciate the quality entertainment that you provide through your program and I wish you all the success with it and your other ventures.Amit
Dear Anil,
I listen to the show almost every week on Saturdays at 10:30a.m. I am not Indian but I like Indian music. My name is Ebony and I am an 18 year old college freshman at Temple University in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania. I have visited the website awaaz.indiaradio.com . I like the show.
Dear Anil,
Hope this mail will find you and your family in good health and prosperity. I am among the numerous listeners of 'A n i l - k i - A w a a z', who start their saturday morning or rather get up by the sound of sweet lyrics, music and nice voice on their radio sets. No flattery but actual admiration of your efforts.Keep it up. All my friends have literally made me a channel of communication to place their request through me. I don't know whether its right or wrong but it gives me a sense of responsibility and pleasure when it airs on the radio by you.
Meenakshi
Hello Anil,
Congratulation for your radio show and... Web page. I am 103.3 Indian show listener since day 1, and I will tell you that you are doing terrific job at radio.
I give you A+ for guests you bring on show.
Amit
Dear Anil,
I am a Pakistani and very happy because of your Anil-Ki-Awaaz. Because of you, I listen to Indian songs every Saturday. If you did not make this possible, probably my Saturdays would be very uninteresting. I would like to thank you for this station. If you can get some more time on the air, please do. There are a lot of Pakistanis and Indians who would love more time to listen to you.
Hameed.
